Open House and Maggie's London Night Hike

london night hikeLondon Night Hike 2009: Friday 18th September

Bigger and better than ever before, why not rally together friends, family and colleagues to join the London Night Hike in 2009?

1,500 people took to the streets of late night London to support Maggie’s in September by walking a brand new 20 mile route through the capital and saw fantastic architecture by night.

Walkers were treated to a unique night-time insight into old Open House favourites such as City Hall, Somerset House and the Royal Geographical Society, as well as new highlights including Horse Guards, Battersea Power Station and Gehry's Serpentine Pavilion.

Almost £300,000 has already been raised, with money still coming in, to support Maggie's' existing network of centres across Scotland and the centre here in London.

The fifth annual Maggie’s and Open House London Night Hike will take place on Friday 18th September 2009 and we’re aiming for the highest number of walkers yet.

To join up to 2,000 people in support of Maggie’s you can register online – and to acknowledge your early commitment to this event registration fees have been frozen at the same level as 2008 until the end of January.

Why?

Every year more than 5,300 people in London are diagnosed with cancer. Statistics show that one in every three people in the UK will be affected by cancer at some point in their lifetime.

Taking part in the London Night Hike is a fantastic way to raise funds to support Maggie's newest centre here in London, as well as plans to extend their network of support throughout the UK over the next few years. Our partnership with Maggie's promotes the importance of the built environment on our well being.
