Welcome to Open House
In 2007, Open House celebrates fifteen years of opening eyes and minds to
good design in the capital. During that time the organisation has raised
awareness of the critical difference that well-designed environments have on
the quality of everyday life in London.
Open House is a unique independent platform providing a vital opportunity
for everyone to step back and examine what makes a good place in which to
live, work and play. With a basis of expertise and research built up over a
decade and a half, it has established sustained campaigns and programmes in
which thousands of young people, decision-makers, designers and those in the
wider community actively participate.
Open House is focused on encouraging Londoners to explore and re-examine
their city, to debate how architecture affects their daily lives, and to
discover and appreciate how they can really influence change in the built
environment. Its activities and projects are pioneering, thought-provoking
and highly regarded, ranging from seminars, workshops and building visits to
creative programmes inside and outside the classroom. Yet the organisation
is also dynamic and flexible, responding to current needs and issues in the
making of the city. |
