**NEW** Building Lives/The Lives of Buildings
Join us on 26-28 June in a celebration of some of London’s most fascinating architecture. Open House, in conjunction with English Heritage, is presenting this event as part of the Mayor of London’s new June festival ‘The Story of London’. Find out about the past, present and future of London’s architecture and how its buildings live, grow, die and are reborn and reused. Talks, tours, family activities, debates and some more unusual events will mean there is something for everyone. Keep checking here for details of events. Email us to find out more about helping as a volunteer for Open House over this weekend.

Maggie’s and Open House London Night Hike

Once again, we’re joining forces with Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres for the London Night Hike on Friday 18 September. Help us make this bigger than ever by rallying friends to join in. We’re looking for 2000 people to take to the streets of late night London, walking a 20 mile route. You’ll see fantastic architecture by night including Horse Guards, City Hall, Fulham Palace, and Battersea Power Station, and be rewarded with a night flight on the London Eye. As well as raising funds for Maggie’s Centres, 10% of funds raised will support Open House and our projects for young people. Register online now

Junior Open House
This comprehensive, fun-packed programme brings primary school students into contact with exemplary London architecture. Our guided building explorations encourage young people to become ‘architectives’, to look for clues, learn design skills and gain an understanding of how people use urban space. This direct experience leads on to creative workshops in the classroom. This year’s Junior Open House will run from May-July 2009 with the theme of re-imagining buildings and will culminate in an inter-school competition and awards ceremony. Find out more
