General InformationThe primary objective of the Open House London annual event is to provide Londoners with a unique opportunity to identify with distinctive architecture in the public and private realm. We believe that the best way to do this is to experience buildings at first hand, in the flesh! The event is fully inclusive and admission is free for all Open House London events each September.
You will need to find out which buildings are opening in order to plan your visits. Click here to see how to get hold of a copy of the Open House London Guide (available mid-August each year), or check out the website search facility.
Along with a brief description and the name of the architect, each building’s entry in the Guide or in the website search facility will contain its address, opening days and hours, access to visitors, pre-booking details where relevant, amenities and transport.
Open House London is a free event in which all sections of the community are invited to participate. This is in line with Open House’s equal opportunity policy. Please note that each building’s opening, security arrangements and refusal of entry will be controlled by their owners. Open House cannot accept responsibility for any variation from any details that will be published.
Open House usually works in partnership with Artsline, the disability information service, to provide an online access information service for the event. Where buildings supply this information, the Artsline team can answer simple access queries thereby insuring that visitors can prepare for a successful and enjoyable visit. Click here for Disability access website.

The Guide will also be available in large print and electronic formats by emailing admin@openhouse.org.uk.
Entry to a few of the properties will require you to book in advance through the building and contact details will be given in the listings. For those buildings whose bookings are administered by Open House, the bookings will be open between specific dates only. You will need to go to the search page and find your building, and there is a button there which then takes you to the booking page for that building. We do ask that you allow only 2 places per person, and that you promptly cancel and release any bookings no longer required. Please bear in mind that the booking is on a first come basis and no vacant slots can be guaranteed. Please be aware that some buildings will become full quickly due to popularity, which Open House is unable to accept responsibility for. When tour times become fully booked they will be indicated with FULL next to that tour time.
The Hotline will have updated event information on 09001 600 061. Calls are charged at 60p per minute.
Produced mid September each year to provide a comprehensive list of amendments, additions and withdrawals to the participating buildings (you will need to check the Updates and Amendments page of the website).
Hundreds of professionals and enthusiasts volunteer their time over the weekend as architectural Guides and Stewards to enable you to enjoy the experience. In recognition of their role in making the event happen their badge enables them to gain priority access. For information about volunteering, please email admin@openhouse.org.uk with your full details and VOLUNTEER in subject field.
