Open House Contemporary, supported by Corus, uses a city's spaces and places as platforms for reflection, and provides a forum for in-depth dialogue about the complexities of the design process, what makes good design, the innovative technologies and materials used to create buildings, and how architects think and create.

2005 "Show and Tell" Series - sponsored by Corus
The September - December 05 Open House Contemporary programme was supported by Corus and included 3 "Show and Tell" talks centred around buildings featured in Open House London 2005, plus a "Steel in Architecture" lecture.

20th September - Client revelations uncut! Geraldine Bedell client and owner of the 2003 RIBA Award Winning building, and author of The Handmade House, gave her views on the design process.

21st September - A True Collaboration. Abigail Hopkins (Sanei Hopkins Architects) and Francesca Hughes (Hughes Meyer Studio) explored a true collaboration with their client, and how this informed their design for the Philip Hughes Art Studio. RIBA Award Winner 2005.

22nd September - The Architect's Story. Silvia Ullmayer of S Ullmayer & A Sylvester revealed the ideas and design behind the award winning Summer House in Hackney.

These talks also formed part of the London Design Festival.

2004 "Show and Tell" series and exhibition
Euston Road Project

An exhibition at the British Library organised by the London Borough of Camden in collaboration with Open House London. This put together a variety of proposals taking place along this major stretch of highway. The exhibition showed how the whole area can benefit from careful planning and illustrates proposals from Sir Terry Farrell and Partners.

 
  2004 Show & Tell Talks
